As an event planner it is important to analyze the layout of your venue before and during an event. I have used the following layout designs to estimate capacity, set up, safety plans, and the overall flow of an event.

The Bright Building

This layout I used as a template for a reception venue for a client. This template was found on the Bright Building's website and this has given me a good estimate on tables, linens, etc.

Roots of Knowledge Luncheon

The Roots of Knowledge is a art exhibit of glass stained windows. For a project in my Advanced Event Planning course (taken at Utah Valley University), I created a set up plan for a hypothetical luncheon taking place here.

I used my knowledge of food and beverage management, fire safety codes, and guest management to create a fully operational layout for a luncheon and presentations to occur.

Stein Erikson Lodge

What do you do when your outdoor venue gets rained out? Obviously move it indoors without changing the original plan as much as possible. This layout was interesting because I had to keep the same layout design but move it from this outdoor venue to a room indoors. The client asked that I still keep the same layout even though the room was significantly smaller than the outdoor area.
